Quick setup — step by step
-
Step 1: Visit the official setup page
Open Trezor.io/start in your browser. For security, type the URL directly and avoid third-party links. The page detects your model and provides the right installer and instructions.
-
Step 2: Install Trezor Suite
Download Trezor Suite (desktop or web). It’s the official app for connecting and managing your device. Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
-
Step 3: Connect your device
Use the supplied USB cable to connect your Trezor. Trezor Suite will detect the device and guide you through firmware installation to make sure you’re up to date.
-
Step 4: Create a new wallet
Choose Create new wallet or recover an existing one. When creating new, the device generates a recovery seed (12/18/24 words). Write it down and keep it offline. Never store the seed digitally or share it.
-
Step 5: Set a PIN
Protect your device with a PIN. This prevents unauthorized use even if the device is stolen. Pick a PIN you can remember but isn’t easily guessable.
-
Step 6: Access your dashboard
Once set up, explore the Trezor Suite dashboard: portfolio overview, transaction history, and coin management are all available from one place.
-
Step 7: Explore advanced features
Trezor supports privacy and power-user options like Tor routing, custom node connections, CoinJoin for Bitcoin, password management, and integrations with wallets such as MetaMask for DeFi access.
